Recipe Notes
- I melted butter first before I gathered the other ingredients and sped up the cooling by placing the melted butter into the freezer for 5 to 7 minutes.
- In baking always used unsalted butter because it's way easier to control the salt by adding it vs. it being included in the butter. If you don't have unsalted, omit the added salt in the recipe.
- Store the blondies in an airtight container for five days or freeze for up to two months.
- Use starter that is unfed and has been discarded in the past week for best (not too sour) results.
Here's how to make it:
- In a medium-sized bowl add melted butter, egg and sourdough discard. Blend thoroughly. Add the brown sugar and vanilla and mix completely.
- In another bowl add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir gently with a fork.
- Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir to combine. Add the chips and mix with the batter.
- Spread the batter into a parchment paper-lined 13x9-inch baking pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 30 minutes, or until the brownies are golden brown.
- Cool for 30 to 60 minutes, then cut and enjoy!
