Health Benefits of Turmeric: Why You Need to Start Cooking With This Flavorful Anti-inflammatory Spice ASAP

I love using spices when I cook, and one of my favorites is turmeric. Turmeric is used as a spice in South Asian and Middle Eastern cooking, and for good reason. Not only does it add flavor to food, it also boosts nutrition. In fact, turmeric is an antioxidant that provides many health benefits, including that it may help reduce inflammation and even prevent heart disease

Here are some healthy reasons why you should put turmeric on your shopping list:

  • Turmeric is a fantastic root that has anti-inflammatory properties, and is traditionally used to help heal cuts, bruises and burns.
  • Raw turmeric juice can be used to treat hyper-acidity and indigestion – a perfect solution for tummy troubles after a heavy meal.
  • Turmeric contains phytochemicals that have been investigated for their potential effects on diseases including cancer, Alzheimer's, arthritis and diabetes.

But how to include turmeric in your diet? Include it in a recipe or two – for your health. Your family may not even notice it when you make this delicious cauliflower popcorn or these fun turmeric French fries. Don't miss all of these great recipes that use turmeric
