Easy Herb Drop Biscuits Recipe Is What Your Soup Has Been Missing

I’ve been making a lot of soups lately. My favorite side dish to pair with those hot bowls of soup is these herb drop biscuits. This herb drop biscuit recipe is savory, warm and doesn't take long to put together. These fresh herb biscuits are the perfect complement to any meal!

To make these easy biscuits you will need just a few simple ingredients. Here is what you need to gather to enjoy these biscuits for dinner tonight: all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, butter, Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs and whole milk.

Serve these herbed biscuits hot out of the oven for dinner with soups, stews, chowders, chicken, beef, pork or lamb. Once you've bitten into one, you'll wonder why you've never made homemade biscuits before!

Recipe Notes

  • If you don’t have a food processor, combine ingredients and mix in a medium-size mixing bowl. Cut the butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter or knife and then your hands, if necessary.
  • I had all the herbs on hand listed above, but feel free to use what you have to mix up the taste every time you make them.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Put the flour, garlic powder, salt and baking powder into a food processor. Pulse for about 10 seconds to combine.
  2. Add the cold butter pieces to food processor and pulse until it is mostly combined.
  3. Add the herbs and then drizzle in milk, a little at a time. Pulse until mixture becomes a dough. (You don’t want to over-mix the dough because it will make the biscuits tough. I used a scraper and clean hands to mix in all the flour left on the sides.)
  4. Use a spoon to drop six large dough pieces onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Melt the 2 tablespoons of butter and brush or drizzle over warm rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
