Cuisine: Asian / Vietnamese
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: Makes about 5 tablespoons
Here's how to make it:
- Put the chopped garlic and oil into a small skillet or wok. Cook over medium-high heat until garlic is golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. (Watch it close! The garlic can burn quickly.) Turn the heat off. Let the garlic cool completely.
- Pour the garlic through a mesh strainer to separate the garlic oil from the garlic pieces. Put the garlic pieces onto a paper towel to drain. Store the garlic in an airtight container.
Note: You can use the garlic oil in recipes, too. Store it in a mason jar or airtight container for about one month at room temperature.
