This is one of the prettiest and easiest appetizers to make if you really want to impress your guests! This gooey delicious baked brie wheel melts perfectly inside puff pastry and has the added sweetness from your favorite fruit preserves. So easy and delicious!

To make this puff pastry wrapped brie you only need four simple ingredients. It's crazy that four ingredients can make sure a elegant appetizer! Here is your short shopping list: a wheel of brie cheese, puff pastry sheets, fruit preserves and an egg to make an egg wash. The brie is topped with the fruit preserves then wrapped in the puff pastry sheet. After a quick egg wash bath, it is baked in the oven until golden brown.

Serve this hot cheese appetizer with crackers. You could even surround the cheese with fresh fruit like grapes, blueberries, figs, apples and berries. How pretty would that be?

Recipe Notes

  • I like fig preserves, but you can use anything, from strawberry to blueberry to pear to raspberry. You could also drizzle the brie with honey before baking.
  • You can leave the rind on the cheese or remove it.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the cold puff pastry on a lightly floured counter and roll out the pastry to allow plenty of room to fold over onto your brie wheel. (If you have a smaller wheel you may not need to roll at all.)
  2. Place the brie in the center of the dough. Brush the top of the brie with the preserves or honey.
  3. Fold the pastry over on top and trim any excess.
  4. Brush the dough with the beaten egg.
  5. Put the wrapped brie onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven until golden brown, about 35 to 40 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving with crackers. Enjoy!
