2-Ingredient Parmesan Pepper Crisps Recipe for Salads, Snacks & More

Want a way to dress up a bowl of soup or a salad but don’t have a lot of time? These Parmesan crisps are a great low-carb alternative to croutons, but cook up in only about 10 minutes. And if you’re a cheese-a-holic like me, they also make a great snack when you have the urge for something crisp and tasty but don't want to munch on potato chips.

The best news is you only need two gluten-free ingredients, both of which you probably have on hand! All you need to grab to make this crispy, low-sodium Parmesan pepper crisps recipe is grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper (read about the health benefits of black pepper). That's it!

Put these cheese crisps on top of your salads, float them on your tomato soup or grab one and munch away. These Italian-inspired crisps won't disappoint.

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Make sure to cool completely before removing from the pan.
  • Use grated Parmesan cheese, not the powder in a can.

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon tablespoonfuls of cheese onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches in between each mound for the crisps to spread.
  2. Sprinkle each mound of cheese with pepper.
  3. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for 5 minutes or until golden. Check crisps at 4 minutes to be sure they aren’t getting too brown.
  4. Cool completely on the baking sheet before removing with a thin spatula.
