Amish Slow-Cooker Christmas Jam Recipe (Not Just for the Holidays Anymore) by Jan Mostrom
I whipped up this slow-cooker Amish Christmas jam the other night to have on hand for the holidays – and it will now be a delicious staple in our fridge! It is so easy and you can use it like cranberry sauce or like traditional jams on toast, biscuits, cheese trays or even on ice cream. I'm planning on freezing cranberries so that I can make this festive holiday fruit jam any time of the year!
To make this Amish cranberry strawberry jam you will need to gather the following ingredients: fresh cranberries, fresh strawberries, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, ground ginger and brown sugar. The ingredients cook in a slow cooker before being pulsed in a blender. The result is a sweet and tart gluten-free spread to serve at breakfast, brunch or even as a topping for desserts. This easy jam would also make a great low-sodium holiday food gift for friends and family.

Recipe Notes
- Don't over-process the cooked fruit in the blender or you will make cranberry butter! An immersion blender will also do the trick.
- Keep the jam in the fridge for up to two weeks. You can also freeze it for later.
Here's how to make it:
- Put all the ingredients into a slow cooker. Stir.
- Cook on high for 4 hours. Don't take off the lid during this time.
- After the 4 hours place everything in a blender and pulse for about 10 seconds. Do not over-blend!
- Put the jam into jars or an airtight container.
