Easy 4-Ingredient Apple Cranberry Dump Cake Recipe for Thanksgiving

It was so fun to make this apple-cranberry dump cake recipe and share it with friends and family. I put this four-ingredient cake together in under 10 minutes and popped it into the oven as dinner started. As the delicious dump cake cooks, the house smells great and the timing was perfect to serve it warm with ice cream. The fall-inspired dessert has just four simple ingredients and is such a great easy dessert for the busy days ahead!

Here is your shopping list so you can add this to your Thanksgiving menu: two cans of whole berry cranberry sauce, a can of apple pie filling, a box of white or yellow cake mix and butter. The ingredients are put into a cake pan and baked. No measuring, sifting or other prep work like traditional cake recipes.

Serve this festive cake for dessert topped with vanilla ice cream of whipped cream. You will not regret it!

Recipe Notes

  • Store the cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
  • You could sprinkle with some ground cinnamon before baking.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Pour both cranberry sauce and the apple pie filling into the bottom of a greased 13x9-inch cake pan. Stir together.
  2. Open the cake mix and pour over the apple-cranberry mixture. Do not stir.
  3. Cut butter into thin slices and arrange them on top of the cake mix.
  4. Place in preheated 350-degree F oven and bake until golden brown, about 50 to 55 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes or until ready to serve.
  5. Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
