Friendsgiving Southern Cider Cocktail Recipe With Cinnamon-Infused Honey

Looking for a tasty way to toast your annual Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving get-together? This easy southern apple cider cocktail recipe is how to do it! With whiskey, lemon juice, a cinnamon-infused honey, apple cider and bitters, it's the perfect sip of fall.

To make this fall-inspired cocktail recipe you will need whiskey, lemons for juicing and peeling, cinnamon sticks, honey, apple cider, Angostura bitters, a drink shaker and rocks glasses. Whip up one of these cocktails for your friends who are partaking. For those who aren't, make them a festive mocktail. Cheers!

Ingredients

Cocktail

  • 1.5 ounces Singleton 12 Year Old or your favorite whiskey
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces cinnamon-infused honey (2:1)
  • 0.25 ounces fresh apple cider
  • drop of sea salt solution (optional)
  • dash of Angostura Bitters
  • lemon peel, for garnish

  • You could also garnish with an orange peel.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled.
  • Store the cinnamon-infused honey in an airtight container in the fridge.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. For the honey, heat 2 parts honey, 1 part water and a cinnamon stick to just below boiling and let simmer for up to 5 minutes. Then let cool and store in refrigerator.
  2. To make the cocktail, add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is frosted. Strain over one large ice cube. Express lemon peel over the drink then add as garnish.
