Recharge Your Spirit & Nurture Your Soul: Are You Up for My Challenge? by Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead
I traveled for work recently, and while I was away I felt more like myself than I had in a long time. It occurred to me that I was doing things that are quintessentially “me,” traveling, learning and creative writing, for instance. As an extroverted introvert, time to myself is also key. While I did see some friends in the area, I also explored the city on my own and had time for self-reflection.
My trip recharged my spirit and re-affirmed for me the importance of not only self-care but also of nurturing the things that make me who I am at my core. We spend so much time inhabiting our various identities – parent, partner, employee, caregiver, etc. – that we forget who we are when we’re not in these roles. What makes you, YOU? What can you do today to nurture that? I challenge you to do it.
