Creamy Cinnamon Whipped Cream Recipe Elevates Any Dessert (3 Ingredients, 5 Minutes)

Attention cinnamon lovers: dessert just got even more delicious! If you're like me, you think most treats taste even better with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Now, imagine that cinnamon flavor you love wrapped into a creamy dessert topping. One word: WOW!

This easy, three-ingredient cinnamon whipped cream recipe wraps the uniquely spicy taste of cinnamon into a rich and fragrant topping that elevates any dessert. This gluten-free whipped cream treat is so simple to make – all you need is heavy whipping cream, cinnamon and powdered sugar. The vanilla extract is optional. You beat the ingredients with your electric mixer until stiff peaks form. And, this delicious homemade whipped cream recipe takes only about five minutes to make!

I served this low-sodium whipped cream as a topping for my blueberry banana baked oatmeal recipe and it took the taste to the next level. You also can use it on top of cakes and cupcakes, pancakes, pies, cookies, hot chocolate or eggnog. I even added a dollop to my coffee and it was amazing!

Recipe Notes

  • For best results, use heavy whipping cream that's very cold. It also helps to put your mixing bowl and mixer's whisk attachment into the refrigerator to chill about 15 to 20 minutes before using them so they are cold as well.
  • I used an electric mixer, but you could try to make it without one by using a cold wire whisk and beating the ingredients rapidly until peaks form.
  • If you'd like less cinnamon flavor, use a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. If you'd like more cinnamon flavor, use 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. I found 3/4 teaspoon to be just right. If you're unsure, you can taste test by starting with a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Combine all the ingredients in the mixer and mix for about 30 seconds. Stop the mixer and dip a spoon into the bowl to taste it before adding more cinnamon.
  • I like the added flavor of a teaspoon of vanilla extract, but that is optional.
  • Garnish with an additional sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You also can freeze it.

  1. To the bowl of your electric mixer, add the heavy whipping cream, cinnamon, powdered sugar and vanilla extract, if using.
  2. Beat on medium to high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2 to 3 minutes.[ijmg]
