Quick Asparagus In Foil Recipe Means Easy Cleanup (4 Ingredients, 20 Minutes)

Kids won't eat asparagus? Try presenting the vegetable to them in a new way. This asparagus recipe cooked in foil comes out tender (not mushy!) and flavorful. Because asparagus is in season right now, this asparagus recipe is the perfect Easter side dish.

Simply lay trimmed asparagus spears on a sheet of aluminum foil. Season with salt, black pepper and Italian seasoning and wrap it up into a packet. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. So quick and easy! Another plus? This easy gluten-free asparagus recipe saves you from having to wash a pot or pan. Who doesn't love that?

You could switch the Italian seasoning for your favorite seasoning blend to make it your own. Serve this baked asparagus with your favorite proteins for dinner. You could also chop it up for a salad

Recipe Notes

  • Instead of Italian seasoning, try this recipe with Mediterranean seasoning, Greek seasoning or your favorite seasoning blend.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Tear off a large piece of aluminum foil. Coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Lay the asparagus on the foil. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Dot the top of the asparagus with the butter. Top with the lemon slices. Fold the foil up tightly to create a packet.
  4. Cook on a hot grill or in a 425-degree F oven for about 12 to 15 minutes, flipping a few times during cooking.
  5. When ready to serve, open the packet and sprinkle with the chopped parsley, if desired.
