Fresh Watermelon Salsa Recipe: Meet the Hit of Your Memorial Day Party by Donna John

Sweet. Savory. Refreshing. Watermelon salsa not only screams summer, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day – it does it with a bullhorn and pompoms! This is the perfect watermelon recipe to serve during the hot months of summer.
This fruity watermelon salsa is made with fresh and vibrant ingredients: seedless watermelon, red onion, fresh cilantro, jalapeno and lime juice and zest. Toss the ingredients together in a bowl and refrigerate until you're ready to serve. Want to up the savory (and summer) factor? Grill the watermelon before chopping. Yes, it tastes amazing.
You could also try this recipe with pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew melon or your favorite fruit. Serve with tortilla chips or my homemade wonton chips.

Ingredients
- 5 cups diced seedless watermelon
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
- 1 large jalapeno, seeded and chopped
- juice and zest of 1 lime

- Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
- Mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
