Pico de gallo, also known as salsa fresca, is one of the easiest fresh salsa recipes to make. In fact, it's so easy, it may not even qualify as a recipe. But boy, is it delicious.
Simple, wholesome ingredients is what makes this homemade pico de gallo the perfect recipe to make anytime. Fresh chopped tomatoes, fresh chopped onion, fresh sliced jalapeno, fresh chopped cilantro and fresh lime juice (fresh!) is mixed together and then seasoned with salt and pepper. Adjust the amounts of each ingredient to your taste and by how many people you are serving. Serve this fresh pico de gallo recipe as an appetizer or snack with tortilla chips, or spoon over grilled chicken breasts or shrimp. Ingredients
- tomatoes, chopped
- onion, chopped
- jalapeno, seeded and chopped (leave seeds for extra heat)
- cilantro, chopped
- limes

- Add the chopped tomato to a bowl.
- Add the chopped onion.
- Add the chopped jalapeno.
- Add the chopped cilantro.
- Squeeze in fresh lime juice, and season with salt and pepper. Stir and refrigerate until ready to serve.
