Meghan Married Her Prince, But We Can’t All Be Royalty! Share Your Wedding Day Photos With Us

American actress Meghan Markle is now the Duchess of Sussex after falling in love with her real-life Prince. The ceremony at St George's Chapel on the grounds of the Windsor Castle was stunning, powerful, diverse and rooted in love. It’s clear Meghan is already leaving her mark on the royal family inspiring a modern, inclusive twist on British tradition. A simple gown made elegant with a stunning veil achored by an heirloom tiara of diamonds and a radiant smile. She looked comfortable and amazing.

I shared some clips of the wedding with my almost 4-year-old daughter and she was instantly impressed with the detail of it all. Without skipping a beat she then asked if we could watch an episode of “Sophia the First.” You know, the Disney cartoon about a common, everyday girl who “became a princess overnight.”

It got me thinking ... I sure felt like a princess the day I married my love five and a half years ago, didn’t you? The dress, the traditions, the flowers, the sparkle, the photographer... If we’re lucky, we all find our *own* prince (or princess) to share life with.

We were young and got married by the side of a river almost 17 years ago with only an occasional passerby in attendance. We do not have any wedding photos but this is one of my favorite pictures from a recent date night. It was perfect for us. ❤️

The love stories that take a path less traveled are often the best! Just the two of you, no pressure of a big party... ❤️ My parents did the same thing in the mountains of Cali!

AHHHHH love your sleeves, I tried so hard to find a dress with 3/4 length sleeves (had my grandma make a little bolero instead). Beauuutiful!

Ohh yeah! I wore a bolero the first time and found this dress nine days and six months pregnant the second time!!! Sometimes the stars align.

All the tears were shed leading up to it because the rain wouldn’t let up, but it all worked out, even if we didn’t get our outdoor wedding/photos.

I'm sure you heard a million times that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck ;-) (...something that probably originated by someone who's big day was rained out of course!) Love the purple and red!

That’s what I kept telling myself, but still couldn’t keep the tears from rolling during our rehearsal. I LOVE the Fall and was so looking forward to getting some beautiful outdoor photos. And OF COURSE, the original wedding date I wanted (in Nov - we got married in Oct - my husband and mom talked me out of waiting because it was “too risky” weather-wise) was 70 degrees and sunny!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Of course it was!! I feel you! The year before our October date was PERFECT weather, we visited the site with such hope and excitement for the warm fall sunshine. The day of a year later was COOOOOOLD (but not rainy, phew!). Weather aside... I bet it was perfect!! Just gotta go with the flow at some point right, haha #thatslife ;-)

Thank you!!! The veil was my mom's that she wore when she married my dad almost 40 years ago and they are still married. I wanted a piece of that with me on our big day. We got married on the mountain top where we snowboarded on our first date...it was a pretty perfect day!!!!💗
