Mindful Love: Missable Moments In Love and Life That None of Us Ever Need to Miss

After my husband, Jonathan, died in December I realized the busyness of my day. Working and taking care of him during his illness, I didn't take the time to see him. Although there are many pictures of Jonathan in his prime with his movie-star looks, this last picture of Jonathan is the picture that I love most.

When the cancer stole the man I met, I got to see and meet a new man that cancer left me. A man more handsome, more sexy, more brilliant than I dreamed could exist. So, I look at this picture each day and into those beautiful blue eyes and I grieve.

You don't have to miss those moments, no matter how busy your day is or what annoyed you about your person that day. My only wish is that you are as fortunate as I am, and you get to be with someone who you get to love so deeply, who annoys you terribly, makes you laugh loudly, makes you think how you could be a better human being and wake up next to and do it all over again.

It only takes 30 conscious seconds of mindfulness to remember that beauty in the person you love.

Take 30 seconds and join the 30Seconds community. Inspire and be inspired.

As you know it's brutal. It's incredible to get to know other widows and their stories. I love that I get to honour my husband in all of this. I love the lessons he taught me that I get to live in today.
