Desk Exercises: 3 Simple Ways to Stay Fit While Sitting at Your Desk!

Staying fit with a desk job can be trying at times. But there are a number of easy exercises that can make a day in a chair a fitness dream.

  • Stretches: They feel so good! Reach up with both arms over your head pressing the palms of your hands toward the ceiling. Drop the arms out to the side and press the palms toward the walls. Pushing your chair away from your desk, drop your hands toward the floor rounding your back. Roll both shoulders back and around. Then reverse the shoulders rolling them forward and around.
  • Leg Lifts: With your chair pushed away from your desk, lift your right knee up and down 10 times. Now your left knee up and down 10 times. Repeat. For a more difficult lift, sit on the edge of your chair allowing your legs more movement.
  • Weights: Small weights next to your desk are a great way to put in extra exercise during a break. They are also a great way to make your routine consistent and effective. A little at a time in more frequent intervals – always a plus!
