Made with just six nourishing ingredients that are mixed together in one small bowl, this simple bread recipe has changed the way I think about making bread. This magic bread recipe goes from a bowl to a serving plate in only about five minutes because it cooks in the microwave. It's so easy – here's how it works. First, you gather the wholesome ingredients: an egg, almond flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder and fresh chives. (You can add chia seeds, flaxseeds and/or sliced almonds, but they're optional.) Next, you combine the ingredients in a small, microwave-safe bowl (such as a cereal or soup bowl). Lastly, you microwave the mixture for 90 seconds. Ta-da, a serving of flavorful bread in just minutes and with very little effort!

Ingredients
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3 tablespoons almond flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped (divided)
- 1/3 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1/3 teaspoon flaxseeds (optional)
- 3/4 teaspoon sliced almonds, in pieces (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- In a small, microwave-safe bowl, add the egg, almond flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder and half of the chives. Add the chia seeds, if using. Stir to combine and smooth out the top. (I used a cereal bowl, but a soup bowl may also work.)
- Sprinkle the other half of the chives on top, along with the flaxseeds and/or sliced almonds, if using. (Instead of flaxseeds, you could use sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, etc.)
- Place the bowl in the microwave and microwave on high for 90 seconds.
- Remove and allow the bread to cool for a couple of minutes before removing from the bowl and serving.
- Store leftover bread in an airtight container.
