The 24K gold sauce is a creamy mixture of yellow mustard, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper. For all this to work, you need bone-in chicken pieces. The gluten-free chicken bakes up in the oven in about 45 minutes.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Servings: 6
Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 1/2 - 2 pounds bone-in chicken pieces
Barbecue Seasoning
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
24K Gold Sauce
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- salt and black pepper, to taste
Here's how to make it:
- Make the spice blend by combining all the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Whisk together. (If you have leftover spice blend, store it in a food storage bag or airtight container in the pantry for other recipes.)
- Put the chicken into a baking dish. Season liberally on both sides with the spice blend. (I used chicken leg quarters, but you could use thighs, legs, wings or breasts. I cut the recipe down for two servings.)
- Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until chicken is crispy and cooked through. (The baking time will vary based on size of chicken and pieces used. Chicken is cooked through at 165 degrees F internal temperature on a food thermometer.)
- While the chicken bakes, make the 24K gold sauce by putting all the ingredients into a small bowl.
- Stir together. (Store the 24K gold sauce in a mason jar, salad dressing cruet or airtight container in the fridge. You will probably have leftover sauce to use in other ways)
- Serve the chicken drizzled with the sauce.
