If you ask me, dinner just doesn't feel complete sometimes without a wonderful bread or biscuit to accompany it. 30Seconds is full of amazing bread recipes, so I thought I'd add one more. What I love about these drop biscuits is that they're a nice alternative to rolls, and they're so easy to make even when you don't have much time. In fact, these lovely biscuits need just five ingredients and are ready in only about 20 minutes. They're the easiest drop biscuits I've ever made!
These drop biscuits aren't too big and all the ingredients are probably already in your pantry. So let's whip up a batch and satisfy that biscuit or bread craving! Here's what you need to gather from the pantry and fridge to make this easy, delicious biscuit recipe: flour (all-purpose or gluten-free), baking powder, salt, butter and milk. The sugar and garlic powder are optional. So simple!
Serve these biscuits hot out of the oven for breakfast, as part of an elegant brunch or as an accompaniment to just about any dinner. Depending on when you're serving them, don't forget the butter, gravy, jam, jelly, honey or maple syrup!
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 9 to 11 minutes (ovens vary)
Total Time: 19 to 21 minutes
Servings: 9
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the sugar and garlic powder, if using. Mix with a fork until blended. (The sugar is optional and, if making these biscuits for breakfast or brunch, I suggest omitting the optional garlic powder.)
- Add the melted butter and the milk. Stir until just combined.
- Spoon the batter onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, making about nine biscuits. (The number of biscuits depends on the size of biscuits you form.)
- Bake in a preheated 450 degree F oven for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm. Store the biscuits in an airtight container to keep them fresh. Reheat in the microwave.
