If you love a good turkey burger, then you will love this easy turkey burger soup recipe. This creamy turkey burger soup is made in the slow cooker, so it simplifies dinner prep while resulting in a savory meal that everyone will enjoy. In fact, my husband called it a bowl full of yum! This cheesy soup recipe is rich and flavorful. With lean turkey and vegetables like celery and peas, it packs a nutritious punch (read about the health benefits of turkey and the health benefits of peas).
To make this simple gluten-free soup recipe you will need extra virgin olive oil, ground turkey, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, potatoes, celery, frozen peas, mild salsa, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, chicken bouillon and cream cheese. You brown the ground turkey in olive oil and seasonings, then combine it with the rest of the ingredients in your slow cooker. Three hours later, you add the cream cheese. An hour later, you're ready to serve it up!
I served this super creamy soup all on its own, but it would be amazing with toasted bread or your favorite side dishes. So easy and delicious!

Recipe Notes
- Instead of ground turkey, you can use ground chicken (or even ground beef).
- I used whipped cream cheese, but you can use regular cream cheese.
- For additional heat, you can add a sprinkle of chili powder or crushed red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.
Here's how to make it:
- In a large saucepan on medium heat, add the olive oil and ground turkey. While sautéing the turkey, add the onion powder, garlic powder and paprika and stir to combine. Cook until meat is browned, about 6 to 8 minutes.
- To your slow cooker, add the turkey.
- Add in the potatoes.
- Add in the celery and peas.
- Add in the chicken broth, chicken bouillon, salsa and diced tomatoes.
- Stir to combine everything.
- Turn on your slow cooker and set it to cook for four hours on high.
- After three hours, add the cream cheese. Allow to cook for one more hour.
- Stir to integrate cream cheese.
- Serve.
