Cheesy Kale Crisps Recipe Proves Real Men Do Eat Kale (4 Ingredients)

If you have kale and cheese on hand, you can have an irresistible – and healthy – snack in minutes! Inspired by Allrecipes, this cheesy kale crisps recipe is one of the easiest I’ve made in a while. But despite how simple it is, these crisps are pretty darn delicious. Even my husband, who never would eat kale willingly, had to admit this healthy snack was great and went back for seconds!

To make these crisp kale chips you will need fresh kale (read about the health benefits of kale), cheddar cheese, olive oil and sea salt. The kale is tossed in olive oil and sea salt before being sprinkled with cheddar cheese. Bake for about eight minutes and then let the kale chips cool before breaking them into pieces and enjoying. So quick and easy!

Kale crisps are a yummy, budget-friendly snack, but they also make a tasty topper for a salad or a fun side dish with dinner.

  • 8 ounces bagged kale, ribs removed and torn into small pieces
  • 2 1/2 shredded cups cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • The kale is easy to burn. Keep a close eye on it while baking.
  • Add a little garlic salt or red pepper if you prefer more spice.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. In a bowl, drizzle the kale with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Toss to spread the oil and salt around. Spread the kale onto two baking sheets prepared with nonstick spray.
  2. Spread the cheddar cheese evenly over the kale.
  3. In a preheated 425-degree F oven, bake the kale for about 8 minutes or until the kale is crisp and the cheese is melted.
  4. Let cool for a couple minutes so the cheese isn’t too gooey to cut. Using a spatula, remove the crispy kale from the pan, cutting into pieces.
