Meatballs are so versatile and can be used in so many different recipes. These easy basic baked turkey meatballs are not only quick to prep and fast to bake, but only have five simple ingredients.

To make these baked ground turkey meatballs you will need just a handful of simple ingredients from the pantry and fridge. Here's what you need to gather to make these low-sodium meatballs: ground turkey, an egg, breadcrumbs, garlic and parsley. The five ingredients are mixed together in a mixing bowl, shaped into about 20 meatballs and baked until cooked through.

Use these low-calorie meatballs in pasta dishes, meatball casseroles, meatball sandwiches, soups or any recipe calling for meatballs. Spaghetti and meatballs has never tasted as good! They can also be served hot out of the oven with your favorite side dishes.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 tablespoons minced Italian flat-leaf parsley or fresh chives

  • The meatballs can be frozen raw or after you bake them. Simply freeze on a baking sheet then pop them into a freezer bag or reusable storage container.
  • Add any fresh or dried herb you enjoy to these meatballs.
  • Try this recipe with ground chicken or even ground beef.
  • If preferred, you could use fresh soft breadcrumbs. You also can use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make this recipe gluten-free. 
  • Stir in some freshly grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor and cheesiness. 
  • This recipe can easily be doubled.

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  2. Roll into meatballs and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.
