Creamy Pumpkin Pie Spice Smoothie Recipe: Get a Jumpstart on Fall

I am not a morning person. I am a night owl and always have been. I wake up pleasant enough, but it takes me a while to get moving. It helps if I have something to look forward to, like what I’m doing that day or even what I’m having for breakfast. On those days I tend to move a little more quickly.

I’m also someone who could easily skip breakfast. I don’t wake up hungry and don’t like a lot of traditional breakfast foods. There are some exceptions, however. I love waffles with berries and whipped cream (who doesn't?), yogurt parfaits and smoothies. That’s about it.

I’m always on the lookout for a new smoothie recipe. This pumpkin pie spice smoothie recipe happens to be the perfect fall recipe. If you’re a pumpkin spice lover, this is the smoothie for you! And you don’t even have to eat it for breakfast; it will taste just as good at any other time of day. Bonus: you can save money by skipping the beverage drive-thru.

Recipe Notes

  • You can pre-freeze the pumpkin puree by dividing 1 can (15 ounces) into an ice cube tray and freezing. You’ll have enough to fill more than one tray but you won’t need another.
  • You could use honey instead of maple syrup.
  • For a little crunch, sprinkle the smoothie with oatmeal or chopped nuts.

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until a smooth consistency is reached.
  2. Pour smoothie into a glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired.
