This creamy walnut vinaigrette salad dressing recipe not only uses walnut oil, but whole healthy walnuts. The easy vinaigrette blends up quickly in your food processor or blender. Here is your short (four ingredients!) shopping list for this homemade vinaigrette: Dijon mustard, walnuts, white wine vinegar and walnut oil.

Drizzle this creamy walnut salad dressing on any salad! It's great over fresh lettuce, spring mix, arugula, baby spinach, endive, romaine or your favorite lettuce. It is fabulous spooned over a lettuce, pear, walnut and blue cheese salad. Or how about lettuce, frizzled capers and roasted beets? How will you use it?

  • If you want to make a smaller amount of walnut vinaigrette, simply cut the ingredients in half.
  • Store the walnut vinaigrette in an airtight container or salad dressing cruet.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Put the mustard, walnuts and vinegar into a food processor or blender. Process for 1 minute.
  2. With the motor running, drizzle in the walnut oil. Process until combined and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper.
