2-Ingredient Chocolate Ganache Recipe Is the Dessert You Need in Your Life (Seriously) by Ann Marie Patitucci
If you’re a chocolate lover like I am, you’ve no doubt had chocolate ganache before, and I’m sure you enjoy it. But have you ever made homemade chocolate ganache? You may be surprised to know that chocolate ganache is quick and easy!
Ganache is simply a mixture of melted chocolate and heavy cream (in contrast, chocolate frosting is made with cocoa powder, butter and sugar). Despite the simple ingredients, chocolate ganache is rich and delicious. Bonus: this chocolate dessert recipe requires just two ingredients and is ready in about 10 minutes!
There are so many ways to enjoy your chocolate ganache! Pour it over cakes, cake rolls or cupcakes. Put some in your coffee and enjoy the sweet cocoa flavor. Use it as fondue and dip fruit, marshmallows, pretzels or graham crackers in it. Pour it over ice cream, banana splits and ice cream sundaes. The possibilities are endless!

Recipe Notes
- Some recipes call for chocolate chips, but I recommend using good-quality chocolate (ex. Ghirardelli, Baker’s or Guittard).
- Ganache should be refrigerated and it gets harder when cold. No worries: it can be melted again in the microwave.
Here’s how to make it:
- Place heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 to 2 minutes, or until it begins simmering.
- Add the chopped chocolate to the bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes. Whisk until smooth. (If you find it too thick, you can add a tablespoon more of warm cream.) Spoon the ganache over your dessert right away.
