Sweet Southern Strawberry Iced Tea Recipe Belongs in Your Summer Drink Glass

Sweet tea is a staple in the south. Not only do most southerners know how to brew the perfect pot of sweet tea, but they know how to make it even more special by adding fruit. This sweet strawberry iced tea recipe is what to serve at your next summer get-together, party or holiday like Memorial Day, Labor Day or July 4th. Or today, just because.

This sweet strawberry iced tea is quick and easy to make. All you need for this sweet tea recipe is water, teabags, granulated sugar, a lemon and fresh strawberries. The tea is steeped for about 10 minutes (steep it longer if you like really strong tea), then sugar is added. Puree some fresh summer strawberries and stir it into the tea along with fresh lemon juice. Serve this fruit-infused iced tea over ice garnished and more strawberries (gotta make it pretty!).

Recipe Notes

  • Try this fruit-flavored iced tea recipe with other berries like raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.
  • Adjust the sugar to fit your tastes. If you're concerned about the amount of sugar, start with 1/4 cup and add more as needed.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Bring 3 cups of the water to a boil in a small pot. Add the tea bags, turn off the heat and let it steep 10 minutes. Remove the teabags. Add the sugar and stir to dissolve.
  2. Put the strawberries into a blender or food processor and puree.
  3. Put the 7 cups of water into a drink pitcher. Add the sweetened tea and stir. Add the strawberry puree and lemon juice. Stir. Serve over ice with additional strawberries in the glass.
