Alcohol consumption is up due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine and social distancing. If you're indulging a little too much, why not change it up a bit and have a glass of refreshing, homemade lemonade?
You'll need:
- 8 cups water
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (6 - 8 lemons)
- fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Here’s how to make it:
- Put 2 cups of the water into a bowl. Microwave until boiling, about 3 minutes. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Cool.
- In a pitcher, combine the cooled sugar water, remaining water and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Add some of the juiced lemons into the mixture or cut some additional lemon slices to add, if desired.
