British Mixed Spice Recipe (Cake Spice): Move Over Pumpkin Pie Spice by 30Seconds Food

British Mixed Spice is a spice blend used in the U.K. that consists of cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice and mace. The spice blend is used in baking, especially around Christmastime. After you bake with this aromatic spice blend, it may become a staple in your spice rack, too.
In the U.S., pumpkin pie spice, gingerbread spice or apple pie spice is somewhat comparable to British Spice Mix. Another not-so-common substitute is called cake spice (Penzey's has a cake spice blend). While you can switch the ratios around and customize it to your tastes, cinnamon is usually the prominent spice. This recipe makes about a 1/2 cup, but you could cut it in half to make about 1/4 cup. Fresh is always best!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 4 teaspoons allspice
- 4 teaspoons nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 1/2 teaspoons mace
