Classic Italian Butter Balls Recipe: You’re Going to Want This Italian Grandma’s Cookie Recipe

My mom's butter ball cookie recipe always reminds me of the holidays and family. Be sure to make copies of this easy Italian butter balls recipe to share.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: Makes 25 to 30 cookies

Ingredients

Cookies

For Rolling

Here's' how to make it:

  1. Add all the cookie ingredients to a bowl and mix by hand.
  2. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet (they don’t expand so don’t need to be spread out).
  3. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 15 minutes.
  4. Let the cookies cool for a minute or two or until you can pick them up without breaking them. Pour the 1/2 cup of powdered sugar into a small bowl. Roll the balls in the sugar. (They won’t fully coat yet.)
  5. When cookies are completely cool, roll them in the sugar again to get the full coating.
