To make this quick teriyaki marinade recipe you will need soy sauce, water, fresh ginger, fresh garlic and brown sugar. Whisk everything together and it is ready to go. You could also throw in some fresh herbs or even some crushed red pepper flakes for a little spice.
Use the quick marinade recipe on any protein. You can even marinate vegetables in it like carrots, broccoli, bok choy, asparagus, mushrooms, eggplant, squash or onions.

- 1 1/2 cups soy sauce (you can use low-sodium soy sauce)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 1-inch piece ginger, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Stir to combine. (Fresh ginger comes frozen in cubes in most grocery stores. For a gluten-free marinade, use tamari instead of soy sauce.)
- Store in an airtight container until ready to use. (Make the marinade ahead of time and keep it in the fridge until needed.)

- Put your protein into a plastic food storage zipper bag (or your preferred container).
- Pour in desired amount of marinade.
- Allow to marinate at least 1 hour and up to overnight, depending on the protein.
