Creamy 4-Ingredient Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe Tastes Like It's Fresh Picked

Thank goodness strawberries are available year-round so we can make this creamy strawberry ice cream recipe. Right? You can never have too many strawberry recipes, especially if they're cold, creamy and sweet.

This creamy strawberry ice cream recipe is super easy to make. Each bite tastes like a fresh-picked strawberry. To make this ice cream you will need a pound of fresh strawberries, granulated sugar, heavy cream and vanilla extract. Four simple ingredients. The strawberries soak in the sugar to release their liquids for about an hour before being blended with the other ingredients. Pour into an ice cream maker, and pretty soon you'll have a sweet bowl of strawberry goodness to eat.

Serve this easy strawberry ice cream for dessert or surprise the family on the weekend. Mmm!!

Recipe Notes

  • Store any leftover ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer.
  • Don't skip the hour of macerating the strawberries in the sugar. The sugar helps the berries release their juices and soften up.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Put the strawberries into a bowl and mix with the sugar. Refrigerate about 1 hour.
  2. Pour the strawberries and their juice into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Combine the strawberry puree with the heavy cream and vanilla. Refrigerate about 1 hour.
  4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker. Process according to manufacturer's directions.
