Recipe Notes

  • You can add chopped onion to the dish when cooking.
  • Instead or in addition to broccoli, you could add chopped carrots, green beans or even mushrooms.
  • You can use turkey sausage for a healthier meal.
  • Instead of Parmesan cheese, try grated cheddar, pepper-jack, Monterey Jack or gruyere.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Cook the sausage in a  Dutch ovenskillet or wok until browned.
  2. Add the vegetables and cook until crisp-tender.
  3. Stir in a 1/2 cup of the grated Parmesan and season with garlic powder, if using, and salt and pepper, to taste. Serve over rice with the remaining grated Parmesan.
