Pantry Recipes: This Easy Green Peas & Rice Recipe Uses Those Pantry Ingredients

Many of us are relying on pantry ingredients right now to reduce trips to the grocery store due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). This easy side dish uses two pantry staples and is kid friendly. 

You'll need:

Here's how to make it:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the rice. Cook, stirring constantly, until it begins to lightly brown, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the water, cover and cook on low heat about 15-20 minutes, or until rice is tender. 
  4. Stir in the peas and heat through. Serve.
