Cocktail Wieners: You Won't Believe the Ingredients in This Easy Appetizer Recipe!

Back in the day in my family, you served spinach dip, queso and these cocktail wieners at every party, baby shower, birthday party or other special event. The two sauce ingredients may sound crazy, but they work. Give 'em a try at your next family get-together or tailgating party.

You'll need:

  • 2 packages (1 pound each) mini cocktail wieners
  • 1 cup grape jelly
  • 1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce (We always used Heinz Chili Sauce)

Here's how to make them:

  1. For the stove-top method, combine the grape jelly and chili sauce in a pot. Heat until melted together. Add the cocktail wieners and simmer on low heat until heated through. Serve.
  2. For the slow-cooker method, add all ingredients into a slow cooker. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.

The grape jelly definitely threw me! But it sounds good, and so easy to make. A real winner (wiener)! :-) Donna John

I know, right? The first time I made these was when my kids were really young. My mom told me how to make them. I thought she'd officially lost her mind. :-) Definitely a throwback recipe for me.
