The Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort: Finding Peace & Tranquility in Nosara, Costa Rica International

Tucked away from the rest of the world in Nosara, Costa Rica, the Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort beckoned me to come and get lost in the tranquility. From the first picture on the website I was hooked. What I found was so much better than I had imagined.

Arriving at the Bodhi Tree I stood at the bottom of the stairs looking at the stonework, the statues and the thatched roof amidst the private jungle landscape. It was like I had arrived in a dream. The entire hotel is open air, so as I stood at the reception desk checking in I could see the serene pool and lounge area with soft waterfalls filling the quiet air with their tranquil sounds.

My room was toward the back of the resort, which meant walking along the wooden path, over a creek, past more waterfalls and deeper into the jungle. Each bungalow was far enough away from the others that there was complete privacy and a sense of being alone. Inside the room was an oasis with a thatched roof, big comfy bed and incredible bathroom with an outdoor shower where the sound of the jungle melted away any sort of stress left in my body.

The beach was a short walk away, so after an incredible breakfast on the deck I wandered the path to the peaceful beach where people were surfing, dogs were playing, women were meditating and children were laughing. There were no restaurants, no commercialization ā€“ it was just us and nature. The way a true retreat is supposed to be.

During my visit I spent time sitting by the pool, in the juice bar, getting an incredible Thai massage in an outdoor spa with a waterfall wall, visiting the small town of Nosara and walking quietly with my husband enjoying the tranquility of this amazing place.
