Teen Time: 27 Ideas for Summertime Fun With Your Tween or Teen! by Sheryl Gould

Sometimes summer activities to enjoy with teens can be a challenge. Here are a few tried-and-true activities to do with your tween or teen. Get your kid's input and pick a few to enjoy together. 

1. Find a pool, waterpark, beach or a lake.
2. Have a backyard or beach bonfire with s'mores. 
3. Play sports – basketball (or horse or four square), football, soccer, badminton, softball, Frisbee or kick the can. 
4. Attend an outdoor music festival, amusement park or local carnival (let them invite a friend). 
5. Dine at an ethnic restaurant of their choice. 
6. Attend a baseball game. 
7. Go to a local farmers market. Let them pick what they want to eat. (Try Cheryl Leahy's farmer's market minestrone soup.)
8. Play golf – miniature or adult.
9. Go kayaking, canoeing or sailing.
10. Have a squirt gun fight.
11. Play tennis, volleyball or badminton. 
12. Hit the go-kart tracks.
13. Hike on a local nature trail. 
14. Take an outdoor yoga class .
15. Help at a homeless shelter. 
16. Take an adventurous day trip. 
17. Cookout or go camping. 
18. Star gaze. 
19. Walk a dog at an animal rescue. 
20. Plant a garden. 
21. Find an outdoor rock climbing wall.
22. Make a favorite pie together. 
23. Sing karaoke. 
24. Go for a bike ride. 
25. Run or walk a race.
26. Watch the sunset or sunrise. 
27. Go fishing. 

Be intentional to schedule fun time ahead of time and put it on your calendar! Relax and enjoy yourself!
