Hiding Unhappiness: How Therapy (and Divorce) Helped Me See People Mindfulness Mental Health

It's common knowledge that I have struggled with my mental health both before and after I had my daughter – and especially since my divorce. It's also common knowledge that I try my hardest to be there for people who are dealing with things similar to what I've been through.

I tend to think I can see through the foggy glass more than most, now that I have been through it. I can see that people mask happiness in an effort to show things are great. I can tell that things aren't great. I can see so many people attempt to focus all their efforts and energy into one particular activity, thinking that will make them happy in the end.

To them I say, don't be too proud. Take a step back. Evaluate your life. Change is inevitable, and constant. Don't stay unhappy just for the sake of looks. Realize that it's OK to be unhappy, and find a way to change. Go to a therapist. Talk to someone. Seek help.

No one is perfect. Everyone deserves to wake up and be happy. Find what makes you happy and go for it.

Life is too short.

You are so right, Jessica Lawrence . Change isn't easy, but it's guaranteed. We have to get used to rolling with it, or at least evolving with it. Otherwise, we will suffer. Thank you for all you share with us.
