Here's an inexpensive way to keep your feet in tip top condition, and it's best performed at night. It's my secret at-home spa ritual for softer, prettier feet!
My foot-spa ritual is a treat for your feet. It's like a mini-pedicure that you can do while relaxing in the comfort of your own home and in only five steps. The secret is Epsom salts, also known as magnesium sulfate. When Epsom salt is dissolved in water, it releases magnesium and sulfate ions that may be absorbed through your skin. You'll need:
- plastic bowl half full of warm water
- 1/2 cup Epsom salts
- foot file
- vitamin E oil
- a pair of cozy socks
Here's how you do it:
- Pour the Epsom salts into the warm water and allow them to dissolve. Soak your feet in the warm Epsom salt water.
- Remove one foot at a time and gently file the rough areas. After filing each foot, soak it again.
- Once the water has cooled, remove feet from the bowl and pat them dry.
- Apply the vitamin E oil to your feet then put on your socks.
- You will likely feel the difference immediately, but when you wake up the next day, you will be amazed at how good your feet feel when you take off those socks!
