Mindful Eating Tips: 8 Steps to a Healthier, Portion-Controlled Mealtime

Sometimes we continue eating despite being already full. This results in overeating and expanded waistlines. The best way to eat the right amount of food for your body is to practice mindful eating. Here are some mindful eating tips:

  1. Slow down.
  2. Eat all your meals at a table.
  3. Savor each bite.
  4. Put down your fork often.
  5. Chew your food properly.
  6. Listen to the first satiety signals your brain is sending you.
  7. Ask yourself from time to time, "Am I still hungry?"
  8. As soon as you are not hungry anymore, take your plate into the kitchen and pour yourself some tea or coffee or brush your teeth to signal that the meal is over.

Mindful eating is healthy eating.

Great tip, Natalia Stasenko ! We've gotten so bad and rushing through meals that there's no way out bodies can send out the signal that we're full before we polish off the entire plate. By time we know we're full, we feel stuffed and miserable. Slowing down and portion control are simple ways to lose a few pounds. Thanks for sharing!

The key for me is simply slowly down the process of a meal. Chew slow, count until it's an everyday think.
