Kid got a splinter? This is a tried-and-true tip recommended by doctors and mothers alike. You can take the pain and fuss out of digging out splinters with just a few simple tools.
You'll need:
- a ripened banana peel
- gauze
- tape
Here's how to do it:
- Cut the peel to fully cover the splinter.
- Hold in place by wrapping the gauze around the wound and sealing with tape. The enzymes from the banana will work their magic bringing the splinter to the top of the skin.
- When you unroll the bandage after 12 to 18 hours, the splinter should be easily removed with the tip of your finger! No more tears!
