Q: Thank you so much for partnering with us on the “Fall Into Fitness Challenge!” Tell us the inspiration behind this and what it’s all about?
The “Fall Into Fitness Challenge” is a fun, motivational way to get yourself moving! It is a list of activities that you need to complete for the length of time or the number of repetitions listed. The month-long challenge gives you enough time to complete and hopefully build some healthy habits. This challenge is inspired by our own internal fitness challenge at the corporate Johnson Fitness & Wellness Headquarters in Cottage Grove, Wis. We don't just sell fitness equipment we live the lifestyle, too! We altered this challenge a bit for you in case you don't have access to fitness equipment. Many of our co-workers team up and do circuits outside around the office building. So, grab a friend to add to the fun!

Q: Why is it important that we focus on ourselves and make time for fitness?
- As parents it's no secret that we are often under a lot of stress. Exercise can reduce stress, elevate your mood and promote a general feeling of well-being, which can help us live more productive lives and age more gracefully.
- Taking care of ourselves allows us to take care of the ones we love.
- We know there are physical benefits to exercise, but there are also mental benefits. Exercise also activates genes that control brain plasticity, or your ability to retain information and adapt to new situations.
- Be around for your kids. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. A cardio workout lowers your blood pressure as fast as one hour post-workout. Regular exercise lowers blood pressure, improves cholesterol and a reduces risk of Type II diabetes.

Q: What if some of us are out of shape? Can we still participate in the “Fall Into Fitness Challenge?”
Of course! Everyone has to start somewhere! Choose the 10-minute version of this challenge. And alter the exercises to make them work for you. For example, if you can't run, walk. Can't hold a plank or a wall sit? Just try for as long as you can. The goal is to just try, but really do try. If there's an exercise you need to avoid or just hate, switch it out with something else. Remember you can pick three of your own exercises to replace any three on the sheet.

Q: We know the physical benefits of exercise, but why is it beneficial to participate in fitness challenges like this one?
- Challenges motivate us to try new things and start new habits.
- Challenges can bring to our attention areas for improvement. They give us the ability to build strength, get healthier and feel better.
- Even if you have things to improve on, don't let that get you down. Rather tell yourself you can do it and you are worthy of a better you.
- Challenges are fun! Share with your friends and us here on 30Seconds. C'mon, I want to see your sweat!

Check out the full requirements here. Participating is easy! Complete the challenge of your choice (10 or 20 list) and also do the following:
- RSVP for the challenge.
