How to Turn Anxiety Into Excitement With One Simple Step! by Kelli Porcaro

"Oh my gosh. I'm so anxious! Oh wait, wait! Make that, I feel so excited!!"
According to a study conducted by Harvard Business School professor Alison Wood, replacing "I feel anxious" with "I'm excited" creates an opportunity mindset versus a mindset that seeks to protect (threat).
I actually tried this out last week on my way to a big meeting. At first it made me laugh, which was already better than sweating from feeling anxious! As I sat in this re-claimed feeling of excitement, I noticed my mind racing to explore the possibilities. I imagined the conversation and considered the possible next steps and plans. Naming your emotions increases your self awareness, helping you make the best possible decisions. Go ahead and try it! I'm EXCITED to hear how it goes!
