Here is your shopping list: gluten-free 1:1 flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, unsalted butter, milk and sour cream.

  • Spice these biscuits up by stirring some black pepper into the dough.

  • For the most tender biscuits, do not overbake.

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. 
  2. Grate the butter into the flour mixture. With your fingers, work the butter into the four until it resembles coarse crumbs. 
  3. Stir in the milk and sour cream until a dough forms. 
  4. Put the dough onto a floured surface and pat until it is about 1-inch thick. Cut the biscuits out using a biscuit cutter or round glass. Put the biscuits onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. 
  5. Bake in a preheated 425-degree F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden.
