Think the margarita is the most loved cocktail in Mexico? Think again! It's the Paloma, a refreshing drink made with grapefruit juice and tequila.

You'll need:

  • 1/4 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup club soda
  • ice
  • kosher salt, lime or grapefruit segment, for garnish (optional)

Here’s how to make it:

  1. In a highball glass, combine the grapefruit juice, tequila, lime juice and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add ice.
  3. Pour in the club soda.

Want to fancy it up? Garnish with a grapefruit or lime segment and/or rim the glass with the kosher salt.

I discovered this drink tailgating last year. I'm not a fan of grapefruit at all, but I absolutely love this drink! Had one this weekend in California. Give 'em a try!
