Famous KFC Fried Chicken Copycat Recipe Is Finger Lickin' Good Chicken Recipes Dinner

KFC boasts that they practically invented fried chicken. We agree! If you can't get enough Kentucky fried chicken in your life, here's a copycat KFC fried chicken recipe to try at home. 

It may be time to restock the spice rack. Yes, there are a lot of spices in this fried chicken recipe. But they're common spices we bet you already have.

Ingredients

• 2 whole chickens, cut into pieces
• oil, for frying

Seasoning

• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
• 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
• 4 tablespoons paprika
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1 tablespoon celery salt
• 2 tablespoons garlic salt
• 1 tablespoon black pepper
• 1 tablespoon dry mustard
• 3 tablespoons white pepper
• 1 tablespoon ground ginger
• 1 tablespoon MSG (optional)

Here's how to make it:

1. Combine all of the seasoning ingredients together. Mix well to thoroughly combine. 
2. Put some water into a bowl and the flour spice mix into another large bowl. Dip the chicken pieces into the water and then into the seasoned flour. Set on a wire rack or wax paper for about 15 minutes. 
3. Fill a large pot or deep fryer with oil. Preheat the oil to 345 degrees F.
4. Put a few pieces of the chicken (pick ones about the same size) and cook until browned and cooked through (180 degrees F internal temperature), about 8 to 15 minutes depending on size of chicken. Remove to a wire rack or put on paper towels. Repeat with remaining chicken.
