Peanut butter cups are a family favorite at our house, but we are all trying to to eat healthier and only indulge in treats every now and then. These easy high-protein peanut butter cups are not only a healthier option, but one snack that you don’t have to feel guilty to eat!
This four-ingredient peanut butter cups candy recipe can be assembled in under 20 minutes. And because of the chocolate snacks are high in protein – check out the health benefits of protein – are a wonderful option for snacking and dessert.
To make this gluten-free and high-protein recipe you will need to grab the following simple ingredients: creamy peanut butter, plain Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, and dark chocolate chips (check out the health benefits of chocolate). If you like sweet and salty, you can grab the flaky sea salt.
These simple homemade chocolate peanut butter cups are a wonderful sweet snack during the day or a quick and easy dessert after dinner.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (or nut butter)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 12 ounces dark chocolate chips
- flaky sea salt (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- Add 12 silicone cups to a muffin pan, or use a silicone muffin pan. Set aside.
- Stir together the peanut butter, yogurt and maple syrup or honey in a bowl until creamy.
- Put the chocolate into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each one, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Use a spoon to drop a small amount of chocolate in the bottom of each muffin pan, using about half of the chocolate. Spread the thin layer at the bottom of each liner. Place in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to set the chocolate.
- Spoon the peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate and spread as well as you can.
- Top the peanut butter with the rest of the chocolate and spread around. If desired, sprinkle with some flaky sea salt.
- Place the muffin tin into the fridge to cool for at least 1 hour.
- Remove from the silicone cups and enjoy! The peanut butter cups can be frozen in an airtight container for up to two months.
