This fluffy hot chocolate dip recipe will finish in the top three best recipes I made all year. Seriously. This creamy, chocolatey hot chocolate dessert dip is so delicious, and it is a no-cook shortcut recipe that is ready in about five minutes. Dessert perfection in my book. I served this chocolate dip on Christmas Eve, and it's already been requested again by everyone. You cannot go wrong!
You only need four simple ingredients for a basic hot chocolate dip recipe. If you want to make it fancier and more festive, you can. For the basic hot chocolate dip you will need a jar of marshmallow creme (aka marshmallow fluff), non-dairy whipped topping, two envelopes of hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows. I dusted mine with cocoa powder and sprinkled it with crushed up candy canes to make it more appealing for Santa.
Serve the creamy hot chocolate dip with dippers like cookies or pretzels. I served mine with vanilla wafer cookies and pretzel twists. Once you try this easy dessert dip recipe, be sure to come back here and let me know in the comments section below. Don't wait for the holidays to make it! This is a sweet snack perfect all year long.
Happy New Year!
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 7 ounces (1 jar) marshmallow creme (aka marshmallow fluff)
- 8 ounces (1 tub) non-dairy whipped topping (I used Cool Whip)
- 2 envelopes hot chocolate mix
- mini marshmallows
- cocoa powder, for dusting (optional)
- peppermint candies or candy canes, crushed (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- Whisk together the marshmallow creme and whipped topping.
- Add the two packets of hot chocolate mix.
- Stir well to combine. (You can use any type of hot chocolate you like. I used milk chocolate, but next time will try it with dark chocolate.)
- Put the dip into a serving bowl. Top with some mini marshmallows. Dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle with crushed candy canes, if using. (I used a mesh strainer to dust on the cocoa powder.)
- Serve immediately with your favorite dippers. (Tip: If you are not serving it immediately, cover and refrigerate before adding the marshmallows. Add them right at serving time.) Store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge or covered with plastic wrap.
