Ingredients
Whipped Cream
- 1 cup cold heavy cream
- 3 candy canes (or peppermint candies)
Hot Chocolate
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Here's how you make it:
- For the whipped cream, crush the peppermint candy. Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Add in 2 to 3 tablespoons crushed candy canes and continue to whip until heavy peaks form. Store in the refrigerator.
- For the hot chocolate, whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt and milk in a saucepot over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Stir in vanilla. Serve in mugs topped with the whipped cream. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. Store any unused whipped cream in the refrigerator.
