This year instead of baking a traditional Thanksgiving turkey, I bought a pre-cooked hickory smoked turkey for the family dinner. Everyone enjoyed the turkey, but I found out later that they missed the gravy. Not so much for the turkey, but for the mashed potatoes and stuffing. What to do? Next time I will make this easy turkey gravy recipe that doesn't require baking a turkey or turkey drippings.
To make this shortcut turkey gravy recipe you only need six simple, gluten-free and budget-friendly ingredients. Here is your short shopping list for this gravy recipe: butter, fresh garlic, dried thyme, flour (all-purpose or gluten-free flour), chicken or turkey broth (yes, you can buy turkey broth) and poultry seasoning. The gravy is ready in about 10 minutes.
The gravy doesn't use turkey pan drippings, but it is still rich and delicious. Ladle the gravy over turkey, side dishes or even roasted chicken. This is a gravy recipe you can make year-round for meals that just need a little gravy. This no drippings turkey gravy may solve my problem when serving that Christmas ham this year.
